This is a "dissertation prospectus" which I drafted on Saturday, October 6, 2007, at the request of my committee chair to define my research objectives and thinking at this point. These ideas represent a much more narrow focus than the dissertation proposal I considered in the fall of 2005 and spring 2006, and wrote as a drafted initial three dissertation chapters.

I am submitting this prospectus to my commitee chair for review and feedback, and welcome feedback others may have to offer on these ideas and proposals.
